House of Turquoise never ceases to inspire - and this is a room I want in my own house!!! So beautiful - I love the colours, the shape of the bedhead, the fabric, the lamp, the wall panelling, and those little hints of pink in the curtains, door knobs and the teacup!

Girls Weekend Away

Back home after a lovely girls weekend away in Bowral. We stayed in a gorgeous cottage just a few blocks from the main street (Good choice Jules!) - It was just perfect - Weatherboard clad, painted deep blue with white trims. Inside there was high ceilings, timber paneling, fireplace and a modern extension onto a cute cottage garden!

Now it's back to reality - house work and getting ready for the Erina Handmade Markets this Sunday at Erina High School - please come by and say hello!

Welcome Home

Well yesterday I went back to work and it was great!

Just one day a week for the next little while...enough to get back into something creative and keep in touch with the real world, without having the worries and stresses of a full time job! And I get to come home to my gorgeous family at the end of the day! I didn't think I missed Izzy much during the day but I couldn't put her down when I got home -Poor bub was practically smothered last night! And she was a perfect angel for Bren. We are too lucky! Big thank you to Nanna, Poppa and Uncle Andy who came to visit!

Now it seems that in my absence everyone had a very creative 24hrs...or perhaps it's just that I have 2 days of posts to catch up on...either way be sure to check out some of the beautiful blogs down the side here ----->

More Panelling!

So yesterday after my blog post I went on another blogging blitz researching the timber panelling I so desperately want in my family room. I rang Mr Ply & Wood and turns out the panels are not nearly as expensive as I thought! I can do the room for about $250! Now I can't do it straight away but perhaps that can be my birthday pressie next year (hint hint Bren!)

So that makes me feel so much better about the white below the dado rails.

Then I found House of Smith's Blog... Where have you been?!! I can't believe I didn't find this blog sooner! That's the amazing thing about this whole blogging world there are just too many talented and inspirational people out there!

Anyway checkout their bathroom makeover using picture frame moulding...

Beautiful isn't it? I think Izzy would love a room like this! You can follow their blog and checkout more photos here (Highly recommended!).

I think it looks fabulous but a little too fiddly for my big room, I don't have the patience to get it so perfect! I love the blue too...an American colour :(

But then I stumbled onto Apartment Therapy and found this transformation using MDF!

It's at this point I wish I lived in America because every image I seem to love has walls painted in Benjamin Moore Wedgewood Gray. I have a Benjamin Moore and Pottery Barn obsession at the moment! Also the colours are so much bolder than what you see here in Australia, I'm not sure I can make it look that good!

So this is what our room looks like now after a day of sorting through paint colours! Ohh dear it just gets worse and worse!

So I think a trip to Bunnings is in order today for some more sample pots! Wish me luck!

Fireplace Mini Makeover

Here is my fireplace mini makeover!

This fireplace has been thought about and thought about since we moved in. It is the very first thing you see as you walk through the door. It's a lovely idea but all I see is the electric fire with the fake logs and fake flames! So first I tried painting it all white so as not to draw attention to it...

But ohh all I saw was that heater and those bad tiles! And don't you love the cord coming through the front?!!!

So I painted the area around the fire, nice! So I did the panelling behind the same.

Then I thought it needed a bit more (I am a more is more girl!), so played around with it a little...
Sanded back my old mirror which was dark timber, then painted white, and now is somewhere in the middle...

Added a few more bits & pieces and a beautful baby girl and Voila!

We spend so much time here!

So I am happy with it, I'd still love to rip out that heater but at least you don't look at it as much anymore :)

And the colours are...yep you guessed it!
